Hydrolyzed feather meal

Hydrolyzed feather meal is a powdered, crushed product resulting from the hydrolysis of feathers originated from poultry slaughter. The raw material used is collected in establishments supervised by competent bodies. It is processed strictly within the rules of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA).

Antioxidants may be used in their composition to prevent the fats from oxidizing. Due to its nutritional characteristics, it contains high protein value and has advantages in the formulation of feed for animals, thus allowing greater cost-benefit in the formulation of diets for monogastric animals.


  • Costs: reduction in feed formulation cost;
  • Nutrients: product rich in essential amino acids and minerals (phosphorus and calcium);
  • Safety: it is free of allergenic or anti-nutritional factors.



Hydrolyzed feather meal is used as an ingredient in the manufacture of balanced rations of non-ruminant animals ((birds, pigs, fish, crustaceans and pet food), and is sold in bags, big bags or in bulk.

Prohibited use in ruminant feed.
