The Brazilian animal rendering chain was at the center of attention in Seoul at the Business Connection South Korea, organized by Brazilian Renderers, a partnership between the Brazilian Renderers Association (ABRA) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), with support from the Embassy of Brazil in Seoul.
The event brought together Brazilian authorities and Korean business leaders interested in learning firsthand about the sector’s robustness. The participation of the Brazilian diplomatic corps—represented by Minister-Counselor Flávio André de Moura Melo, Chargé d’Affaires and Head of the Commercial Promotion Sector at the Embassy, and Agricultural Attaché Ricardo Zanatta Machado—added institutional weight to the meeting. This support reinforced the credibility of the national industry and increased the sector’s visibility in the Asian market, considered strategic for the expansion of exports.
The business matchmaking sessions were the highlight of the program. In this space, Brazilian industries showcased the quality of their solutions in meals, fats, blood derivatives and hydrolyzed proteins of animal origin. Ayamo Global Foods, FASA by Darling, and Seara/JBS demonstrated how Brazil combines production scale, innovation, and sustainability in a chain that provides essential inputs for animal nutrition.
Korean business leaders were able to interact with Brazilian representatives in an environment of dialogue and information exchange. Business Connection South Korea concluded with the expectation of continuing the conversations initiated, strengthening bilateral dialogue and paving the way for new export opportunities.
Brazilian Renderers
Since 2012, ABRA and ApexBrasil have jointly promoted the Brazilian Renderers project, aimed at boosting exports from the Animal Rendering sector—including meals, fats, blood derivatives, palatants, and hydrolyzed proteins of animal origin. Through participation in trade fairs, workshops, and other special commercial promotion activities, the projects highlight the attributes of the animal rendering industry and its products—such as quality, sanitary status, and production sustainability—and enhance the international brands of the products, fostering new business for Brazilian exporters. Information on how to participate in sectoral projects is available at brazilianrenderers.com.
