With a strategic focus on the internationalization of the sector, ABRA gathered the animal rendering industry for an exclusive technical meeting during FENAGRA 2025. The “Habilita Chile” Seminar, held on Wednesday (14), provided valuable guidance for those aiming to export animal-origin meals and fats from non-ruminant species to the Chilean market — an increasingly promising destination for Brazilian animal rendering. The event was organized by Brazilian Renderers — a partnership between Brazilian Renderers and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
Led by Minda Yoely Sánchez Fazzi, representative of the Central Office of the Animal Feed Subdepartment of SAG (Agricultural and Livestock Service), the seminar detailed the step-by-step approval process required by the Chilean government. Representing Chile’s official agricultural health agency, Minda presented updated technical information and highlighted the specific requirements that Brazilian facilities must meet.
More than just listening, participants had the chance to interact directly with the Chilean sanitary authority. Throughout the presentation, members asked questions, clarified doubts, and delved into specific aspects of the approval process. This opportunity for direct dialogue with SAG — in an exclusive and technical setting — was a key highlight of the event, enabling an unprecedented connection with the agency responsible for export authorizations.
SAG’s presence at the seminar was the result of an effort initiated in March, during a bilateral meeting in Asunción that brought together government and private sector representatives. That meeting marked the beginning of a movement to expand Brazilian exports to Chile, with animal rendering highlighted as one of the most promising sectors for integration between the two countries.
By hosting the “Habilita Chile” Seminar within FENAGRA, ABRA and Brazilian Renderers reaffirmed their role as a strategic bridge between the national industry and international markets. More than a technical presentation, the event was a milestone in Brazil-Chile trade relations — and another concrete step toward opening new frontiers for Brazilian animal rendering.
