The Brazilian Renderers project, a partnership between the Brazilian Renderers Association (ABRA) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), was in Kuala Lumpur from August 27 to 29 to participate in Livestock Malaysia 2025 — considered the country’s largest animal protein industry exhibition. The fair brought together more than six thousand local and international visitors seeking innovation, technologies, and strategic partnerships.

With an institutional booth, Brazilian Renderers served as a support point for ABRA members and participating companies. The space functioned as a showcase for Brazilian animal rendering products, as well as a hub for networking, business promotion, and strengthening commercial relations with the Asian market. The presence at the event reinforced the sector’s position as a global reference in quality, traceability, and sustainability.

The project’s presence in Malaysia were directly supported by the Brazilian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, which attended the booth and followed local arrangements. Present were Ambassador Daniella Ortega de Paiva Menezes, Head of the Trade Promotion Section Victor Cirne, Brazilian Agricultural Attaché Dalci de Jesus Bagolin, and Sangkar Bahadur from the local team. The support of the diplomatic representation was essential to strengthen institutional ties and expand the strategic reach of Brazil’s participation. During the three days of the fair, the booth also received visits from Malaysian authorities, including Datuk Seri Isham Ishak, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security; Sri Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of the same ministry; and Alda Binti Muhid, Director of Disease Control and Veterinary Biosafety Services. These meetings increased the project’s visibility and opened doors for future institutional and commercial collaborations.

Livestock Malaysia is organized with the support of the Department of Veterinary Services and the Ministry of Agriculture of Malaysia, bringing together feed manufacturers, producers, distributors, veterinarians, and industry representatives. Brazil’s presence at the event is part of Brazilian Renderers’ strategic actions to expand the sector’s international presence and consolidate new markets.

Brazilian Renderers

Since 2012, ABRA and ApexBrasil have partnered on the Brazilian Renderers project, aimed at promoting exports from the Animal Rendering sector — including meals, fats, blood derivatives, palatants, and hydrolyzed animal proteins. Through participation in trade fairs, workshops, and other special trade promotion initiatives, the projects highlight the attributes of the animal rendering industry and its products — such as quality, sanitary standards, and sustainable production — while also strengthening the international brands of these products and generating new business opportunities for Brazilian exporters. Information on how to participate in the sector projects is available at brazilianrenderers.com.
