The city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra hosted, on April 2, the Business Connection Bolivia, an initiative of the Brazilian Renderers project – a partnership between the Brazilian Renderers Association (ABRA) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) – aimed at the internationalization of Brazil’s animal rendering industry. The event took place during the AgropeCruz fair, in the Guarayo Lounge at FEXPOCRUZ, gathering industry companies, Bolivian buyers, and authorities from both countries in a strategic environment of business and institutional integration.
The agenda included the presence of Brazil’s Consul General in Santa Cruz, Francisco Carlos Soares Luz, and Marco Antonio Risco Burgos, representative of Bolivia’s National Service of Agricultural Health and Food Safety (SENASAG), highlighting the diplomatic and regulatory weight of the initiative. In his welcome speech, the Consul emphasized the quality of Brazilian production, the new opportunities for bilateral trade, and Bolivia’s potential as a supplier of animal raw materials for the Brazilian biodiesel market. He also mentioned the positive impact that Bolivia’s full membership in Mercosur could bring to the business environment between the two countries.
The highlight of the Business Connection was the business matchmaking round, which brought Brazilian animal rendering companies closer to Bolivian buyers through meetings focused on generating real and lasting business. Major industry players participated in the initiative, such as A&R / BR Render, Independent Brazil, Minerva Foods, FASA (by Darling Ingredients), Grupo Patense, and Levo Alimentos, showcasing their production capacity and the excellence of Brazilian products.
The agenda continued with a cocktail reception promoted by REAM, creating a relaxed space for networking and exchanging experiences among industry representatives, authorities, and potential partners.
With this event, Brazilian Renderers reaffirms its commitment to market expansion and the international promotion of Brazil’s animal rendering industry, strengthening the sector’s presence in a strategic market with strong growth potential, especially in the pet food segment.
Booth at AgropeCruz
Brazilian Renderers was also present at ExpoCruz – AgropeCruz, one of Bolivia’s largest agricultural fairs. The event took place from April 2 to 6 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, bringing together exhibitors from various agribusiness segments.
Dedicated to livestock and the exhibition of cattle and agro-industrial products, AgropeCruz served as a showcase for the latest inputs, tools, machinery, and technological solutions for the sector. The event also highlighted the diversity of Bolivian livestock farming, featuring a wide selection of cattle, sheep, pigs, horses, and goats, in addition to poultry and fruit and vegetable products.

Since 2012, ABRA and ApexBrasil have promoted the Brazilian Renderers project with the objective of promoting exports from the Animal Rendering sector – meal, fat, blood products and palatabiliy ehancers, and hydrolyzed protein of animal origin.
