With an eye on the international expansion of the animal rendering sector, Brazilian Renderers landed in Costa Rica with a clear mission: to open doors, build connections, and showcase the strength of the Brazilian industry to the local market. Held last week (June 4), the Business Connection Costa Rica brought together Brazilian companies and representatives of the Costa Rican industry in a strategic trade promotion agenda. The initiative is a result of the partnership between the Brazilian Renderers Association (ABRA) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), with the support of the Brazilian Embassy and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA).

The event also featured the screening of an institutional video about the Brazilian Renderers project and the formal presentation of the participating Brazilian companies: A&R Nutrição Animal, BRF Ingredientes, FASA by Darling, Friboi, Levo – Plusval, Minerva, Patense, and K-Pro. On the Costa Rican side, representatives from Cargill, Cooperativa de Productores de Leche Dos Pinos, Rackam SA, CMI Alimentos, and Latin America Representative F-TKO were present.

The meeting brought together Brazilian companies interested in exporting to the country and key representatives of the local industry. The program began with a special breakfast offered by the organizers of REAM 2025, followed by institutional speeches from the Brazilian Ambassador to Costa Rica, Antonio Alves Junior, and the Agricultural Attaché of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), Priscila Moser, who shared information about the sanitary status and the export authorization process to the country.

Through participation in fairs, workshops and other special actions of commercial promotion, the projects value attributes of the animal rendering industry and its products – such as quality, health status and sustainability of production – and value the international brands of products, fostering new business for Brazilian exporters.
