Guadalajara experienced the energy of a sector that keeps growing.
For three days, the Mexican city hosted a true international celebration of animal rendering. More than just numbers, REAM 2025 delivered connections, opportunities, and a vibrant atmosphere that combined technical knowledge, innovation, and business in an intense and unforgettable program. The event showcased, with brilliance and consistency, that the animal rendering industry in the Americas knows what it wants and is ready to reach new markets and heights.
With its third edition held from September 2 to 4, REAM – Reunião das Américas – has established itself as the leading continental forum for the sector. An international showcase, it brought together companies and leaders from animal rendering, nutrition and pet food, aqua, biofuels, fats, UCO, and oleochemicals, among other specialties in the value chain.
The chosen venue was the Hard Rock Hotel Guadalajara, a modern space full of personality and musical soul, matching the energy that drives REAM. Every corner offered an invitation to exchange ideas, look to the future, and foster collaboration.
“REAM 2025 was not just an event — it was the expression of leadership built on vision, strategy, and representation. ABRA is proud to lead this initiative, which projects Brazilian animal rendering to the world, connects markets, and delivers tangible results. The success of REAM shows that when the sector moves forward together, it goes further.”
— Pedro Bittar, Chairman of the ABRA Board
“Conceiving REAM was an act of courage — and seeing everything we have built so far is a source of pride. We delivered a solid event, with strategic content and real connections. REAM is a bridge between markets, and we remain committed to making it increasingly indispensable for the sector.”
— Felipe Hurtado, CEO and Founder of AgriGlobal Market
In just three editions, REAM has shown an impressive growth curve. In 2023, its debut brought together nearly 300 participants from over 140 companies, establishing itself as a new platform for international business. In 2024, the numbers grew: 482 participants, 222 companies, and representatives from 20 countries.
Now, in 2025, the expansion was confirmed: 499 participants, 254 companies, and 23 countries. The leap highlights the strengthening of networking, the entry of new markets and strategic sectors — such as rendering, animal nutrition, equipment, and additives — and the consolidation of REAM as a landmark event for the industry.
Strategic Partnerships
All of this is the result of a collective effort, bringing together institutions with significant international representation. REAM 2025 was organized by a diverse and highly qualified group of entities representing different specialties within the animal rendering value chain: the Brazilian Animal Rendering Industry Association (ABRA) and the technology company AgriGlobal Market.
An Unforgettable Experience: Cortijo Los Fernández
If you attended previous editions, you already know: REAM goes far beyond the meeting rooms. In every edition, participants are welcomed with memorable cultural experiences — moments of celebration, belonging, and identity. In Cartagena, we sailed together under an unforgettable sunset. In Medellín, the event opened amidst the grandeur of a historic castle.
In Guadalajara, on September 2, it was time to experience the magic of a typical Mexican ranch: Cortijo Los Fernández. A charming venue that captured the warmth and splendor of Mexican culture. The setting set the tone for the days ahead: an event full of strategic connections, innovation, and hospitality.
Business in the Spotlight: Matchmaking and Exhibition
Centered in the exhibition area, the business matchmaking sessions and exhibitor booths were among the highlights of REAM 2025. On September 3 and 4, the event hosted commercial meetings focused on exports and the opening of new markets — an agenda designed to create real opportunities, bring companies closer together, and strengthen the industry’s international presence.
The exhibitor and business booths impressed with their design and the solutions presented, serving as an invitation to new ideas and partnerships. The highly anticipated business matchmaking sessions were an absolute success, generating unprecedented opportunities and promising agreements for the sector across the Americas.
Buyers and representatives from 23 countries participated in the matchmaking sessions. The volume and quality of the meetings confirmed REAM as a global business showcase.
To further enhance these connections, REAM featured an exclusive market intelligence platform, accessible through the AgriGlobal Market app and on touchscreens available on-site. The tool helped participants identify strategic contacts, track market trends, and make the most of their time in Guadalajara.
The business matchmaking sessions were supported institutionally by the Brazilian Renderers project, a partnership between the Brazilian Animal Rendering Industry Association (ABRA) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The initiative was part of the official matchmaking agenda, connecting the Brazilian industry with global buyers who have direct interest in the sector’s products.
The REAM Talks, exclusive to Gold and Silver booth exhibitors, also enriched the event. They served as a strategic platform for companies to showcase solutions, case studies, and product launches — facilitating direct contact with industry leaders and encouraging exchange between different segments of the rendering value chain.
Congress: Technical Content with Global Reach
Running alongside the matchmaking sessions and exhibition, the International Animal Rendering Industry Congress added high-level technical content to the REAM 2025 program. Recognized in Mexico and across Latin America, the Congress served as a space for updates and networking for the rendering, animal nutrition, and pet food sectors.
Organized by AMEXFAL S.A. de C.V., in partnership with Miguel Ángel López, Pet Consultant, the event brought together one of the most qualified audiences in the region.
The Congress was divided into two parallel rooms, offering complementary content:
- In Room T-1 Ada, the first panel addressed topics related to the Meat and Rendering sector. This was followed by presentations on Animal Nutrition, and finally, a focus on Pet Food through presentations and discussions.
- In Room NARA, curated by the North American Renderers Association, the focus was on Innovation and Technology, followed by a panel on Circular Bioeconomy, and concluding with the topic of Biofuels.
Experts from Brazil, Mexico, and Europe presented practical solutions for the daily operations of the industry. All sessions offered virtual simultaneous translation via Zoom Streaming, ensuring real-time accessibility.
Meeting of Agricultural Attachés
During REAM 2025, representatives of the Brazilian agricultural attachés in Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, and Chile gathered to align the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock’s (MAPA) upcoming actions in their respective countries. The meeting focused on internal coordination among the attachés, aiming to strengthen market access and define joint strategies.
In addition to the technical meeting, the attachés held agendas with ABRA members and Brazilian Renderers participants, assisting companies interested in clarifying questions, monitoring specific demands, and learning about future market openings and trade missions.
The attachés’ work also stood out through their active presence at Brazilian company booths and participation in the technical program on the first day of REAM, contributing knowledge and institutional coordination to boost the international presence of Brazilian animal rendering.
Next Edition: Mendoza, 2026
The success of the 2025 edition already points the way forward. The next stop for REAM will be in Mendoza, Argentina, from September 1 to 3, 2026. A new setting to strengthen connections, open markets, and write another chapter in the history of animal rendering in the Americas.
